Insurance:

As a member you may qualify for worker’s compensation insurance through the Kansas Building Industry Worker’s Compensation Fund (KBIWCF).  By obtaining your insurance through the KBIWCF  and your local insurance agent, you will find that rates may be anywhere from 5-30% lower than market rates.  For many, KBIWCF is considered the essential insurance policy for our industry.

3 Level Organization

As a member, you receive membership at a national, state, and local level.  All three working to promote and protect the construction industry on your behalf.

Association Resources:

The NAHB Research Center, Home Builders Institute, Buildersbooks.com, special interest councils, Online NAHB Resource Guide, and state, local, and national conferences (Including the annual International Builders’ Show), local Home Show, and local Parade of Homes, are all resources available to provide even more opportunities for business growth and success.

Networking:

As a MABA member, you have numerous opportunities to network with other members of the association.  Along with annual events, MABA hosts monthly general membership meetings on the third Wednesday of every month.  Members take turns sponsoring the meetings and have the option of hosting a “Table Top” demonstration.  These meetings provide social time to share ideas or market your services to others.  During the meeting current trends and issues are discussed to keep the members informed.

Member Discounts:

Take advantage of group purchasing power and membership exclusive rates.  Membership entitles you to discounts from 5-50% on travel, office supplies, computers, business services, financial services and more.

Social events:

Your membership entitles you and your employees to take advantage of our social events.  Presently, the social calendar consists of a golf tournament (with winning teams advancing to the state tournament) and a Winter Social.

Marketing:

As a member, you receive discounted rates to be involved in the MABA Parade of Homes and the Manhattan Area Home Show.  Both are excellent ways to market your business and skills to the consumer and other tradesman.  Your membership entitles you to a listing on our website and in our yearly member directory.  This directory is distributed throughout the area.  MABA also sponsors a public service Home Builder Care Show on KMAN radio each week.  Members have the opportunity to be on the show, which entitles them to advertisement on KMAN as the upcoming guest and also one hour of radio time as a guest on the show.

Marketing on a Shoestring Budget:

· Place a business card size ad in this semi-monthly newsletter for only $25.00 or write an article (price to be determined)

· Be a guest on the Home Builder’s Care Show for a small investment of $25 (members only price) Contact Loren at 537-7466

· Sponsor a General Membership Meeting, the membership can come to you and visit your facility or see a project you are working on.  Or you can give a presentation or have a display for all meeting attendees to see.
